Boardroom transformed with cutting-edge lighting solution
Pensdown was appointed to deliver a lighting solution that would not only illuminate the space but also create a professional and highly engaging environment. The project, which was completed ahead of schedule, transformed the boardroom into a modern, functional and visually appealing space.
Our customer wanted to replace an outdated lighting system that was no longer functioning optimally, appointed Pensdown because of the company’s proven track record and its ability to provide a competitive, bespoke solution. It was also able to meet the primary challenge, to upgrade the lighting while utilising existing lighting channels and preserving the integrity of the valuable boardroom table.
Pensdown implemented a strategic approach to overcome the challenges posed by the boardroom table. A span-access scaffold tower and protective materials were used to safely access the ceiling area without damaging the valuable furniture below. The new lighting system incorporated LED tape lighting within aluminium extrusions strategically placed around the room's perimeter and centre, creating a modern and sophisticated ambiance.
To enhance user experience and energy efficiency, Pensdown integrated a smart lighting system into the design. The LED fittings were programmed using DALI2 technology supplied by Helvar, a market leader in intelligent lighting controls, providing advanced control and flexibility. This innovative solution allowed for customised lighting scenarios to suit various meeting and presentation needs.
The project was completed ahead of schedule, minimising disruption to Centrica’s operations, giving the company an upgraded lighting system that has improved the overall aesthetics of the boardroom and enhanced energy efficiency. The successful integration of the smart lighting system has further elevated the user experience, providing Centrica with a versatile and modern meeting space.
